Pender Harbour Growth & Development Partnership
The Pender Harbour Growth and Development Partnership formed in 1999 with the lofty goal of making Pender Harbour, “...the finest of places of live, work, and enjoy for residents and visitors alike” by beautifying the community and encouraging economic development, with assistance from Community Futures and other stakeholders. Their projects include beautification of downtown Madeira Park and development of the Iris Griffith Wetlands. In 2007, the group was awarded a grant for eco/cultural tourism development. Pender Harbour Living Heritage Society

The Living Heritage Society works towards preservation of our local history, specifically in the marine area. They host the annual April Tools wooden boat challenge, hold boat-building courses and manage the Bert McKay collection of historical marine and commercial fishing artifacts. Area A Senior’s Housing Society

Formed in 1990 to establish and maintain housing for local seniors, in 2003 the group campaigned for high density seniors’ housing on Lagoon Road, and Lily Lake Village developer Ryan Campbell donated footprint property for an Abbeyfield House. Current projects include fundraising to build the Pender Harbour Abbeyfield House and, with the Pender Harbour Health Centre and Pender Harbour Legion, operation of the Outreach Healthy Meals Program. Directors: Paul Cuppen (Chair), Jackie Ordronneau, Anky Drost, Beryl Carmichael, Louise Berg, Linda Curtiss and Jim Woodward. Membership is $5. Pender Harbour Lions Club

The Pender Harbour Lions Club manages Lions Park, holds the annual Midsummer Festival, Pancake Breakfast fundraisers, and provides a bursary to a Pender Harbour Secondary School grad. In April 2007, a Provincial Government grant of $315,000 for development of a playing field was announced, and the Bonfire Festival is scheduled at Lions Park in August. Rotary Club of Pender Harbour

The Rotary Club of Pender Harbour holds several fundraisers such as the annual Wine Festival and Art Auction, and is active in a number of local events including the Pender Harbour Show and Shine.
