Garden Bay Sailing Club

The club formed in 1997 to promote sailing, offer navigation courses, provide free sailing lessons (no sailboat required) and host the annual Malaspina Regatta. They are affiliated with the Canadian Yachting Association and the club’s lessons are based on their standards.
The most popular feature of the Garden Bay Sailing Club is their mini-regatta every Saturday at noon, year-round, for sailors of all experience levels (even none) to hone their skills. Join in with your own boat or join another crew.
Gunboat Bay Sailing Club
These Gunboat Bay and Oyster Bay sailors holds the annual Gunboat Bay Regatta. For more information, e-mail Commodore John van Tongeren or Flagmaster Stan Barker.
Pender Dragons

This new dragonboat club group is fundraising for its own boat and hopes to host races. New members of all ages are invited, and told that top physical fitness is not necessary. The group meets at Garden Bay Pub 3 pm Saturdays and 1 pm Sundays.
Pender Harbour Power & Sail Squadron

All power boaters and sail boaters are invited to join the group for cruises, courses and social activities. The group regularly offers the free course, Boatwise for Kids, for children aged 8-12 (check the Calendar for upcoming courses, or call the Pender Harbour Community School at 604-883-2826).

Royal Vancouver Yacht Club

The Royal Vancouver Yacht Club maintains an outstation at Garden Bay, for members only, features 1,900 ft. of dock space with electricity and fresh water. TV, cooking facilities, washrooms and showers are available onshore. Offsite link: Royal Vancouver Yacht Club.
Seattle Yacht Club

The Seattle Yacht Club maintains an outstation at Garden Bay (49 deg. 37.8” N, 124 deg. 01.2’ W ) for members only. The facility accommodates more than 30 boats and includes fresh water, 30 and 50 ampere power and cable TV on all floats. Onshore, the club features showers, washrooms, laundry room, umbrella tables, barbecue, covered patio, lounge, exchange library and internet access. Offsite link: Seattle Yacht Club.

Pender Harbour Aquatic Society

This group operates the Pender Harbour Aquatic Centre and is administered by the Sunshine Coast Regional District. President Lynn Munro; directors Barb Ellison, Rose Doepel, Anne Georgison, Gil Yard and Joanne Vickers. Meetings third Thursdays, 7 p.m. at the high school library. Annual membership dues: single $3, family $5.

Pender Harbour Golf Club

The Pender Harbour Golf Club Society was formed in 1986 to build and operate the Pender Harbour Golf Course, which is open to the public. The course features nine holes, a driving range, golf carts, lessons, licensed clubhouse and a casual atmosphere.
