Waste Management
Pender Harbour Landfill
Garden Bay Road - 604-883-2954
Summer hours Wed-Mon: 8:30-4:30 (Sunday included) and Tuesday: 8:30-12:30.
Winter hours Mon & Wed-Sat 8:30-4:30; Tue 8:30-12:30; closed Sunday.
The Pender Harbour Landfill, operated by the Sunshine Coast Regional District, includes recycling bins and a “share shed” where you can pay less than the landfill rate to leave usable items for others to buy.
The SCRD decided to replace our landfill with a transfer station, so garbage can be trucked to Sechelt to be landfilled there. Read the SCRD News Release, which makes it sound like a really good idea.
We don’t have community garbage collection, although regular service is available from Harbour Disposal. See Home & Property (Garbage & Recycling).
