The small, unique
villages of Madeira Park, Kleindale, Garden Bay and Irvine’s Landing on the Sunshine Coast of British Columbia, Canada, are collectively known as Pender Harbour.

Technically, Pender Harbour is the body of water that connects their shores, at the junction of Malaspina Strait and Agamemnon Channel, with Mount Daniel in the background.

Pender Harbour is a tourist destination just a couple of hours from Vancouver, famous for spectacular coastal scenery, temperate climate, laid-back lifestyle, year-round outdoor recreation and a vibrant arts community.

Pender Harbour is an unincorporated area of the Sunshine Coast Regional District in the Lower Sunshine Coast, which includes Sechelt and Gibson’s Landing. The Upper Sunshine Coast includes Powell River and Lund.

Pender Harbour’s history is based on commercial fishing, logging and fiercely independent pioneers whose descendants still live here today.

One thing hasn’t changed: our lifestyle. It’s still laid back, easy, informal and, sometimes, irreverent. Most of us are happy without sidewalks, traffic lights, parking meters and a dog-catcher, but we know the times, they are a-changin’.
